Matrix Converter has been received extensive attentions for its excellent input and output performance since it came out. However, it is difficult to generalize to industrial application for its disadvantages that spend too many switches, low reliability and algorithm complexity. Two-Stage Matrix Converter is a derivative of Matrix converter. It has overcome many shortages of Matrix Converter and inherits its merits. Therefore, Two-Stage Matrix Converter has greater potential and application prospect than Matrix Converter and application in motor control field is one of the important directions. Predecessors have some positive results in this field, however, hinder by its low voltage transfer ratio, TSMC only suitable for driving motor in low speed condition. This paper takes Two-Stage Matrix Converter as research object, according to the shortage of without zero vector modulation this thesis proposed an improved algorithm that can achieve power factor adjustment. Furthermore, it find out the primary cause of low voltage transfer ratio though comparative analysis and propose an optimized scheme. Though embed a BOOST circuit in DC bus to reform its topology structure can enhance the voltage transfer ratio, meanwhile, propose a feed-forward closed-loop method to control the voltage of DC bus. Theoretical analysis and simulation experiments verify that Boost Two-Stage Matrix Converter inherits the excellent input and output performance of Matrix Converter and improve its voltage transfer ratio. At last, this article try to applying Boost Two-Stage Matrix Converter to motor control field and establish an asynchronous motor vector control system which based on Boost Two-Stage Matrix Converter. Simulation experiment shows that the system has good dynamic and static performance, sinusoidal input waveform and higher voltage transfer ratio. Therefore, the motor control system based on Boost Two-Stage Matrix Converter is no longer limited to apply in low speed motor drive application.
