Concrete self-anchored suspension bridge was wildly used in China. The maincharacteristic of this kind of bridge was that the cables of the bridge were anchored on thegirder. It is necessary to construct the girder first then install the cable system in the process ofconstruction. The construction process of this kind of bridge was complexity. Therefore it issignificance to study the construction process of this kind of bridge. At present, the study ofconstruction control in concrete self-anchored is mainly concentrated in the fine simulation of aspecific construction stage and the optimization of tension scheme and analysis of parametersensitivity. While there was a lack of study in the details of control in the construction processand innovate in the construction method.A spatial finite element model according to concrete self-anchored suspension bridge wasmade in this paper. The key construction stages were established by the information supplied bythe finite element model. The contradistinction of the calculation results supplied by the finiteelement models and the analytical calculation results was the key to make sure that the modelswere accurately established. Study of the problems in the simulation and control of constructionaccording to the finite element were made. At last, the solving method in erection parameterand the scheme of construction control were put forward based on the characteristics of thebridge.In this paper, the tensioning process of Xiao-long-wan bridge was divided into sixdifferent stages: the installation of the cable system, the tension in the early stage, the transitionof tension controlled by displacement, the system transformation stage and the finished stage.The mechanical characteristics and deformation characteristics of self-anchored bridge indifferent construction stages were analyzed. Then the target and characteristic control scheme indifferent construction stages were put forward based on the characteristics of different stages.For example the saddles were Launched before the tension because of the characteristics thatthe geometry of the completed bridge is higher than the geometry of free cables in side span. Toimprove the precision of stretching process the control method of “marker line” was usedinstead of “the leakage quantity of the anchor head” in the construction process of displacement.To solve the problem that the tensioning force of the suspender cables were too big in thesystem transformation stage a special Stretching plan was given in this paper.A targeted construction scheme was put forward in view of the characteristics of theconcrete self-anchored suspension bridge and Xiao-long-wan bridge, Parts of the constructionprogram were improved to increase the accuracy and efficiency of construction. Finally theconstruction of Xiao-long-wan bridge was successful completed.
