The traditional nodes cannot meet the requirements of modern architecturedevelopment well. Because of its unique advantages, the cast steel node shows therationality and adaptability in engineering application. However, the current codedoes not give general requirements of the design of cast nodes, designers need carryout finite element analysis, full scale or reduced scale experimental studies combiningwith concrete engineering practice. According to the construction of Yingbin Tower inthe Tianjin Center Park, this article carries out the research plan step by step.Firstly, this paper introduces the building scheme and the structure scheme of theprogram. The Yingbin Tower shows itself with the unique shape-wave, and it is thefocal point of the Tianjin Center Park. In order to achieve the architectural effectbetter, it ultimately determines to use the all steel structure after repeated discussions.Secondly, the paper carries out the mechanical property analysis by MIDAS finiteelement software, then discusses the support reactions, member stresses and nodesdisplacements of the structure. The results show that the structural forces are welldistributed and its level is not high, the structural stiffness is enough, the horizontaldisplacement is small and the structure has a good static performance. Under frequentearthquake action, the structure has enough stiffness, the support reactions, memberstresses and nodes displacements also meet the requirements. The results of theresearch on the spokes system show that the spokes can help to reduce the horizontaldisplacement and increase the stiffness of the structure.Thirdly, this paper carries out the analysis of wind-induced response using timedomain method and frequency domain method, then compares the results and gives aproper coefficient of wind-induced vibration. Combined with wind tunnel test report,the analysis shows that the across-wind displacement differs little with the along-winddisplacement and the vortex-excited resonance will not occur. Based on thecalculation and analysis, this paper gives a proper coefficient of wind-inducedvibration and shape coefficient of wind load of the structure which is hollow out likethe Yingbin Tower.Furthermore, this paper discusses the feasibility of the column-without structure. The results of the mechanical properties show that the lack of column has a seriousimpact on the bearing capacity and stiffness. Its stress level and displacement cannotmeet the requirements, so the original structure with columns is reasonable.Finally, this paper describes the technological process of the construction, mainlyfrom the production of cast steel nodes, machining, installation on ground tohigh-altitude installation these stages are introduced. And then summarizes the pointswhich should be paid attention to.
