Fast development of urban railway transportation, however, drives demand for a moremodernized equipment system. Vending machine is automatic ticket urban rail transit systemis an important part of Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) system in urban railwaytransportation. Due to lack of design experience,currently the Coin Handling System(CHS) madein china is not yet desirable in terms of its widespread bulky, running time, and reliability forgiving change. For such problems, this paper presents a high-reliability, intelligent, fast andefficient CHS control terminal solutions.From the Hong Kong railway ticket vending machine CHS project owners demand forpaper puts forward the task of the subject. Then combined with the specific business needs ofthe owners, the framework of the overall design of the coin processing system, the hardwarepart of the coin processing system control design, and its main tasks include:16/32bitmicrocontroller LPC2420and peripheral interface module control board circuit design; cablediagrams designed to achieve the coin handling system to connect the various parts offunctional modules; preparation of control programs based on the C language Programing, therealization of various business functions coin processing system, providing instruction set forPC calling, given workflow control program; Finally, the functional and performance testingmodules, including EMC testing, environmental testing, aging and fault tolerance test.Currently, the software and hardware design of the CHS has been basically completed,enter the prototype testing phase. Test cases indicate: Function coin handling system solutionsto meet the needs of the MTR owners meet the design requirements, the system will be usedin the light rail project in Hong Kong.
