21stcentury shall be the century of ocean. We human beings are claiming moreand more resource from ocean. The manufacturing of offshore vessels shall beboosted, driven by the profit and needs. As an important carbon emission custom,marine industry shall pay attention to the pollution and energy saving. Thus, it isnecessary to improve the design methods for the offshore engineering vessels.The difference between the cooling water system of offshore vessels andtransport vessels shall be studied as well as the main points in designing the coolingwater system of offshore vessels. Then, the feature of parameter in cooling watersystem of offshore vessels shall be studied through three examples.The improvements for the fresh water part of the cooling system shall emphasison improving the cooling parameter of the marine equipments. The reasonableparameter for the marine equipments shall be studied.The study on the sea water part of the cooling system shall focus on calculatingthe necessary sea water flow when the environment condition and the loading factorare changed. Then, the advantage and dis advantage of using the two-speed pump andfrequency-convertible pump shall be studied.At last, improvement for the cooling water system for seabed cable laying vesselshall be carried out with the conclusion achieved by now.
