As progress of urbanization and mobile, vehicle ownership has beenincreased greatly and urban congestion becomes severe. Compared to largecities in developed countries, the share of public transport in the majority ofChinese cities’ is still low. Consequently, to improve the attractiveness ofurban public transportion remains to be a problem. Thus, it is essential toestablish a public transportion evaluation system that satisfies the demand ofurban public transportion development and provides guidance for publictransportion development. As the entire public transportion system is rather complex and based onthe purpose of provide a more targeted guidance, this paper focuses on thebus route instead. Moreover, because there is a lack of standard criteria forjudging a good public transport system and it is difficult to decide how a busline is by simple using a single evaluation index, this paper proposes arelative method to evaluate the bus lines and then to filter out the lines thatrequire to optimized after analyzing the results. From the aspects of transit planning, transit operators and bus services, this paper established12subordinate evaluation indexes and used GIS toolsand IC Card data and GPS data to assist index built and calculations.Super-efficient DEA model was adopted for the single factor andcomprehensive evaluation. This paper uses bus lines from the city of Shenzhen as an case studyand tests the evaluation indices and methods, with comparable significantresult was obtained, indicating the capability of the proposed model...
