Wind energy is a kind of unstable energy, thus the wind power output from wind farmhas the characteristics of volatility and randomness. This causes the difficulty of windpower integration, and leads to the phenomenon of "abandon wind". The energy storagedevice can solve this problem well. To some extent, energy storage technology is one of thedecisive factors for the scale of wind power industry.As a kind of mechanical energy storage modes, flywheel energy storage shows a lot ofincomparable advantages that traditional chemical battery energy storage device cannotcome up with in the wind power generation applications. Comparing with all kinds ofgenerators’ performance, this article chooses the brushless doubly-fed generator as theflywheel energy storage device driven generator. With flywheel device, we can smooth theoutput power of wind power generation system through controlling the working status ofaccelerating energy storage, slow release and synchronous phase modulation. In order toverify the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy in this topic, this article establishedthe mathematical model of doubly-fed induction generator, and used Matlab/Simulinksoftware to simulate the strategy. The results of simulation prove the validity of the controlscheme proposed in this topic.In the last chapter, the exploratory research has been carried on the application offlywheel energy storage increasing the accuracy in wind power prediction. Therefore, it cansmooth the output wind power, and make up with the wind power prediction deviation,which provide the necessary time to prepare for grid scheduling. At the same time, windpower prediction system has been developed by using Matlab/GUI, and this system has acertain reference function on subsequent research.
