Study On The Plant Design Of Baoji Riverside Park Landscape

The river gestated human civilization, and human beings relay on water to live,inhabit, and build our city along the rivers. Urban rivers run through the whole processof the civilization and prosperity of cities. In the beginning, rivers provide valuablewater resources for the city, and drive the transport links between the city and the city,to improve the people’s standard of living, and then produced provide leisure recreationspace for human beings, to form the significant characteristics of the waterfrontlandscape. However, due to the accelerating urbanization, continuous construction ofindustry, rapid urban densification, tense city land, and the river pollution by densebuildings, industrial wastewater and domestic sewage, the self-purification ability ofurban rivers and ecosystem is gradually decreased by above water pollution.Additionally, this phenomenon made a further gap between citizens and nature.Meanwhile, urbanization also lead to the descent of quality of urban environment,which made citizens a heavy strong desire to close to nature increasingly.The root of the human existence is water, river to drive the origin and developmentof the city, gave birth to the civilization of the city, along with the river pollution, andmany other problems, people begin to face up to the environmental governance and thevegetation restoration of riverside area. In history，people often by the river，the river isthe birthplace of many urban civilization. Those famous cities in the world are oftenassociated with water，there is a river represents it cultivate it， such as Vienna on theDanube river, London on the Thames river, the Nanjing on the Yangtze and so on.Nature river landscape has abundant community characteristics, formed bytopography and geomorphology, vegetation, and animals, which have the uniquefeatures of river landscape. However, for its weaker features, these characteristics are really hard to recover in a short time when they are damaged. Therefore, it is the mainresearch purpose that maintaining the natural landscape and protecting the ecologicalbalance of rivers in the process of designing river landscape.Based on the situation of research on Riverfront Park in Baoji city, this articleanalyzed the influence of regional factors on plants selection. In the research field ofregional plant characteristics, it is available to improve plant landscape construction inthe ecological, form, and management aspects of Riverfront Park by seekingbreakthrough from planting modes, species selection and planting design. By using theown characteristics of growth of plants to create a favorable effect upon ecologicalrecovery, it can provide a sense of satisfaction on peoples’ mental about returning tonature, and pursue the aesthetic realm that “Done by man, as if since it is made”.Besides, this article also made a blue print to design the landscape of dismount the campecological park and maintain the plant community form which keeps close to nature inurban with minimal human intervention to create a natural habitat and achieve dynamicbalance of landscape and ecology. In the aspects of vegetation selection, constructionmode and planting design, this article has an accessible theory and important referencevalue in future similar design of baoji city.
