Hetao Irrigation District of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, adequate, but lessrainfall, high evaporation. Irrigation district cited the Yellow River water is very large, anddiversion canal width, flow and sediment content characteristics, which increases thedifficulty of irrigation water flow monitoring, is not conducive to the accurate detection ofthe open channel flow. This topic in measuring and control technology of hydraulic systemfor applications in the field, to the real-time detection of the small open channel flow as thebackground, study how to in Hetao irrigation area of open channel water were effectivemonitoring.This design fromthe engineering practical application ofusing armcortex-m4core chipdevelopment based on time difference method of ultrasonic open channel flowmeter, thedesign of the ultrasonic signal excitation, signal processing circuit and a temperaturedetection circuit etc.. Signals generated by the ultrasonic probe in open channel flowpropagation, using the signal processing circuit, the echo signal amplification, filtering anddemodulation processing; single chip microcomputer according to the received signal, readultrasonic downstream propagation time and upstream propagation time, calculating the timedifference, according to the temperature compensation value of sound velocity and thedetection of the channel height value, open channel water flow is calculated. Finally, themeasuring the flow velocityand flow valuesare displayed in realtime.The subject of design of ultrasonic flowmeter channel experiment device, simulationtest of flowmeter. During the experiment, the ultrasonic transmit and receive probe layout inthe flow of water to simulate flow characteristics of the Hetao Irrigation DistrictExperimental Study. Debugging using high voltage pulse to excite the ultrasonic probe,through the design of ultrasonic open channel flowmeter processing circuit, and the functionof software, real-time water flow data can be obtained, to realize on-line monitoring of asmall flow of open channel. The experiments verify the feasibility of ultrasonic flowmeter,the experimental results achieved the expected goal. The research on the amount of water inHetao irrigation technology development and conservation and utilization of water resourcehas important realistic significance.
