Tunnel Boring Machine is the special tunnel consruction machinery with a set of optics, machine, electric, hydraulic machine, sensor and information technology. Cutter-head and tools are the most critical working parts of TBM. In the tunneling process, the tools contact with the ground and the rock directly, and play a major role of excavation of rock and soil. On the complicated geological conditions, the working conditions of TBM are extremely complicated, and the tools will wear seriously. If we replace the tools frequently, it will increase the risk and cost of the project. Therefore, it is necessary to study the cutting mechanism and wear of TBM tools, to propose the tool wear model based on the actual engineering and predict the tools life.Fistly, this paper simulates the process of cutter cutting the clay and soft rock with the ABAQUS finite element software, and obtaines the depth and anterior horn how to affect the cutting force. And it analyzes the different failure mechanism between the clay and soft rock from the distribution of the fist principal stress, plastic deformation and changes.This paper does a simulation study of the disc cutter breaking rocks based on the line cutting experiment. It analyzes the simulation resuluts of a certain spacing and single cutter breaking rock, and obtaines the relationship between the depths and the force, the influence of the roll edge shape and the wear to the force of disc cutter; and analyzes the rock breaking mechanism from the distribution of the equivalent stress and shear stress. For the mechanical properties of the disc cutter, it mainly analyzes the stress diversification of the breaking rock point and the relationship between contact pressure and the cutting parameters, which lays the foundation for the study of the tools wear.For tool wear problems, this paper simulates the abrasion process of the tools, and analyzes the stress distribution and plastic deformation of the metal surface during the wear process. Based on the rock breaking arc length, it does series of studies about the relationship between the wear of disc cutter and breaking rock parameters, and obtaines the relationship between the cutting depth, the cutter diameter, spacing and the wear.This paper optimizes the cutters amount of different installation radius of an EPB cutter-head based on the equal lifetime principle. And it discusses that the number of spokes and cutter width effect on the cutter wear and the number of layout.It optimizes the spacing of the adjacent disc cutters based on the Specific Energy. Then studies the layout law of the disc cutters, and on this basis, improves the disc cutter layot of a slurry cutter-head, which provides the appropriate reference for the cutter’s design and the construction parameters chosen. |
