With the rapid development of social economy and improvement of people’s living standard, the quantity of the world car increases rapidly. The vehicle makes convenient to people’s life, but also brings social problems of environmental pollution and energy consumption. The electronic vehicle has become a direction to solve these social problems. The engine management system is the core of automotive electronics. The research of engine control strategy is of great significance. The catalytic converter burns completely for the stable operation of the vehicle. At this time the conversion efficiency of the catalytic can reach more than 97%. It greatly affects the vehicle emission to optimize the engine emission in the start and warm stage. Start-stop system can recognize the purpose of stop from the driver, which makes engine start and stop automaticly. Start-stop system can save oil by 6% in the NEDC driving cycle. It is an essential aspect of the vehicle electronic technology study on the control strategy of start-stop system. This paper mainly studies the control strategy of the engine starting and start-stop and the optimization of the engine calibration.Firstly, this paper analyzes the reason why the car produces serious emission and study the formation process of the fuel mixture on start. Establish the basic control strategy for start. Analyze the basic principle why start-stop system can save oil.Secondly, complete the research of the control system of the air intake, fuel injection and ignition, establish the control model with ASCET.Finally, analysis the factors affecting the process of the warm-up based on the engine bench test, such as ignition, the idle speed and the air fuel ratio, establish the parameters about idle according to the test. Complete the work about optimization of the start calibration on vehicle, ensure the reliability and emission performance. The results show that the strategy of the start control achieve the desired goals. Start stop system achieve the goal of saving oil with increasing little emissions.
