There is a broad distribution of plateaus and mountain in China, the average temperature of large number of places in the winter are below freezing point, which the 25 degrees below zero are accounted for a quarter of the country. The bad performance of the cold starting restricts its further development and application of the western areas.Based on the Thermodynamics and Dynamics Fundamentals, the math model of the cold starting progress of TY1100 Diesel Engine was reasonably built by the Classical Equations of First Law of Thermodynamics, Conversation of Mass and the Ideal Gas Equation. And the cylinder temperature of the diesel engine changing with the crank angle after using the glow plug was analyzed. The main work is as follows:①The cylinder working process of TY1100 Diesel Engine in extreme low temperature was analyzed and the math model of of the cold starting in extreme low temperature was built. The math model of different thermal phases of the cold starting of diesel engine was simplified and the boundary condition of the diesel engine starting was built. The unknown number of the formula was transferred or formulated by experience.②The cold starting models which including the Gas Dynamics Model, Friction Loss Model, Leakage Model, Gas Heat and Combustion Model in extreme low temperature of TY1100 Diesel Engine are analyzed and built.③For the cold starting case, a electromagnetic induction glow plug was proposed creatively. The structural design of the glow plug was completed and the heat released model of the glow plug was built.④The equation groups are solved with Runge-Kutta method and the model built above was programmed by C language. The curve of the cylinder temperature and crank angle of the engine and the curve of the leakage mass flow rate and the cylinder pressure curve are obtained.⑤This paper found out the main factors which affect the performance of the cold starting of the TY1100 Diesel, and then presented the measures to improve the performance of the cold starting. The comparison of the starting simulated data between the extreme low temperature and the room temperature shows that the influence of the cold starting using the glow plug proposed in the extreme low temperature was validated. The feasibility and availability of the electromagnetic induction glow plug proposed in this paper was validated.
