With the rapid development of highway transportation in our country day by day the material requirements to the super-highway bitumen pavement has become more and more strict, At the same time, the pollution caused by domestic waste old plastic that makes recycling of it increasingly urgent.The research and application of plastic modified asphalt at home and abroad state clearly:plastic modified asphalt and its mixture have unique advantages in improving pavement anti-rutting capacity, extending lifetime of pavement, saving projects investment and so on. However, plastic modified asphalt easily segregation, poor storage stability become an obstacle to the most critical factor in its development, segregation issue has become urgent plastic modified asphalt be solved. In this paper, several aspects were researched on its production process, evaluation indicators and the mixture at high temperature performance and so on. In the case to ensure its strengths, mainly to solve the problem of its segregation.First, through two types of modifiers ("Untreated waste plastics"and "Treated waste plastics") on different asphalt with different dosage modification results show that the "Treated waste plastics" modified asphalt and "Untreated waste plastics" modified asphalt, compared with a more stable performance, were significantly increased softening point and at the same time, reduced the degree of penetration and ductility with the lower rate.Secondly, use the segregation standards of SBS modified asphalt to requir the two types of waste plastic modified asphalt segregation studied. The results showed that, "Untreated waste plastics" modified asphalt has the same nature with general plastic modified asphalt, easily segregation and poor storage stability; but "Treated waste plastics" modified asphalt has excellent performance at storage stability, laboratory testing showed no segregation.Finally, the high temperature performance with the two types of waste old plastic modified asphalt mixture test studies have shown that "Treated waste plastics" modified asphalt mixture can guarantee brilliant high temperature stability, its performance can even go beyond the "Untreated waste plastics" modified asphalt mixture.Domestic waste old plastic modified asphalt and mixture, with terrific pavement performance and environmental protection, energy-saving to society, can be used for high-grade highway construction, and has broad application prospects.
