Traffic information data collecting technology is the core part of intelligent transportation systems, and is the foundation of urban traffic state recognition and traffic signal timing and so on. It plays an important role in monitoring of urban transportation system and scientific management of traffic system.Traffic information collection technology is based on traffic information collection device. With the rapid development of new technology and gradually applied in the field of traffic, traffic information collection has become from the single information device collection to the combination of several information devices collection. But the current layout of traffic collection devices is based on a single device, according to the characters of the device to meet the demand of data types and data accuracy, then set a lot of devices, the cost of device is high, and several kinds of conventional traffic information collection devices can provide such as traffic flow, speed, occupancy, thus causing a large amount of data redundancy, not only increase the difficulty of data collection, analysis, but also cause the problem of waste of transportation devices, this is a waste of social resources.So the papers is to study under meeting the data requirement of traffic state identification and traffic signal timing to configuring the combination of information collection devices. The purpose is to improve the economic efficiency, combined with the features of different traffic information collection devices. Then establishing a multi-objective programming to optimize the combination of information collection devices, effectively reduce the number of traffic information collection devices supply, in order to improve devices utilization and reduce the cost.
