With the rapid growth of transport capacity of railway freight car, heavy haul transport has become one of the main direction of development of railway transportation of goods. Many countries have achieved great economic and social benefits through the development of heavy haul transport. In order to meet the rapid development of the economy, it is imperative to improve the loading capacity of the freight car. Not only the influence of the force between wheel-rail even more significant, vehicle stability and safety is also facing greater challenges due to the increase of loading capacity and faster speed. For designers, it is hard to determine the dynamic performance parameters, especially the bogie structure and parameters.The main content of the paper is to analyze the bogie dynamic performance of heavy haul freight car. Modelling dynamics model by multi-body dynamics software:SIMPACK. Run the simulation analysis to obtain the resulting data of the dynamics performance parameters of heavy haul freight car. Do a preliminary evaluation to the results data according to circuit running performance evaluation of AAR standard. Find the difference and test problem between the simulation data and the test results. Suppose the possible causes of the problem, then, simulating the possible causes, find the parameters that affect the dynamics performance and change it until the dynamic performance of the bogie meet the requirements of standard.Results show that the straight line performance of original parameters is far less than the limit value of AAR standards. On the curve, except for the lead axle low rail traction ratio is exceed the criteria, other results can meet AAR standards, but the simulation results close to the limit value. The simulation results and test data have difference because of the simplified model; structure and parameters of test vehicle and design parameters are not be completely consistent; the tolerance between the components and design value will appear errors in assembly process. Overall, computer simulations have the ability to simulate the dynamics trend and the causes of the problem accurately. By optimizing the parameters of the original, the problem of lead axle low rail traction ratio is solved by computer simulations eventually, and the dynamic performance become more excellent. The design method that combine computer simulation and test data analysis can effectively improve the efficiency of designer, reduce product development cycle and the cost of production.This thesis results of research on there-piece bogie dynamic performance of heavy haul freight car base on circuit experiment can provide some theoretical guidance for product design.
