Since the 21st century, the global renewable resources are increasingly scarce, along with frequent human activities and more environmental pollution. And energy issues have greatly drawn the world’s attention. From 2008, the high-speed train in China began to develop rapidly. The excellent performance of punctuality, energy saving, environmentally friendly and low-carbon for high-speed train in China ensures its place as one of the world-class high-speed trains. With the increase of train’s speed, train’s operation capacity and train’s transport distance, its energy consumption will obviously raise. Therefore high-speed train is facing enormous challenges in environmental protection and energy saving. According to recent researches worldwide, more attention is put on common speed train’s energy consumption compared to high-speed train’s. What’s more, only a few researches on energy consumption of high-speed train are conducted, but quantitatively instead of qualitively and without considering renewable energy’s utilization by regenerative brake as well.In the context above, on basis of the project "energy assessment and energy consumption analysis software", this paper first established the traction calculation model and energy consumption energy model of a single train. And then the optimal control strategy for high-speed train was analyzed. On this basis, the energy consumption calculation model for train group including traction and auxiliary energy consumption was built considering regenerative energy’s recycling under the same neutral section. Moreover, a simulation platform on multi-trains’operation and energy consumption calculation was developed in visual studio and MFC framework, which provided important references for the calculation and evaluation of train group’s energy consumption, the design of railway timetable and train’s operation strategies. The software can not only dynamically calculate and display detailed information for each train in the timetable, but also offer a general overview of the train group, for example the total number of trains on-line and the total energy consumption.Taking a high-speed railway Haidong Line as an example, the multi-train energy consumption calculated by the simulation platform is assessed in comparison to the real electricity consumption. Analysis of the evaluation proves the reliability of the simulation platform. And then research on the relationship between railway’s operation schedule and the regenerated braking efficiency (RBE) is done, which shows that the RBE gradually increases with dense railway’s operation under constant departing time of train and moreover when the number of trains on the railway is up to maximum, the RBE stays close to 0.3.
