Study on fault diagnosis of electric locomotive electric system had become locomotive accidents guarantee the safe operation of the locomotive, one of the auto problem waiting to be solved. Therefore, this article takes "Troubleshooting-SS4G electric locomotive" as the object of study, common faults of locomotive main and auxiliary circuits, combined with experience extracting fault features, through in-depth research and extraction strategies and corresponding diagnostic strategy,and according to diagnostic systems need to design the interaction model of application software.Based SS4G electric locomotive circuit starts with the basic structure of main circuits and auxiliary equipment, analyzes the main circuits include:high voltage power supply circuits, rectifier and regulator, traction power supply circuits, add-feed the brake circuit, PFC circuit and protection circuit; auxiliary circuit includes:single-power supply system of three-phase and three-phase load circuit and protecting circuit principle. SS4G for locomotives on the basis of actual use of common faults of main and auxiliary circuits of the electric locomotive conducted a more in-depth analysis,failure analysis includes the common faults of locomotive electrical equipment, transformer fault and common failures of common failures of traction motors, split camera and so on. And introduction to the basic classification of the existing fault diagnosis system, and focuses on the basic principle of expert system and neural network fault diagnosis system of composition. Analysis expert system and neural network fault diagnosis based on the basic principles of these two fault diagnosis system analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of each, and analysis of the combination of two main ways.This SS4G electric locomotive fault diagnosis system for the overall design, focus from both data collection and diagnostic strategies for analysis and design. In terms of data acquisition and signal processing, due to the change of main and auxiliary circuits the output signal in real time, on-line diagnostic ability characteristics, proposed for main and auxiliary circuits the output signal using wavelet transform approach to fault feature extraction, and traction transformer fault detection for example introduces the fault feature extraction based on wavelet transform method,provides the basis for the fault detection system for on-line real time diagnosis.Meanwhile, based on the analysis of expert system and neural networks for fault diagnosis strategy of the advantages and disadvantages,neural network expert system for diagnosis strategy was proposed and carried out their designs. Finally, visualc integrated development environment is designed and prepared SS4G electric locomotive fault diagnosis system based on the software and the database. Software user interface meets the system requirements,data can be displayed, fault diagnosis, fault tips, data storage and print functions, and so on, includes fault diagnosis system of basic elements.
