Connected tall building, a new form of tall building construction in 1989, connects two or more single-tower as a whole with an overhead connector. This type of architecture, which enhances the connecting between single-towers, enriches the function of tall buildings, and stimulates more possibilities of architecture designing, is welcomed in construction industry since its appearance, and appears in different countries and regions as huge landmark buildings. Recently, the connected tall building is developing higher, bigger, more comprehensive, more complex, and wider. As a huge construction bearing huge flow of people, the structure failure of tall building during the construction or after the construction will cause disaster results. A series of engineering accidents, reveals the limitations and urgency of research in construction of this architecture type. In recent 2 decades, research of engineering technicians and researchers about construction methods mainly focus on the following aspects, the influence of construction procedure on the structure and cost, the advantages and disadvantages of construction methods and improvement, adjusting and controlling technology of deformation, optimizing of operation cost and constructing period. However, in these aspects domestic or abroad, researches are in the preliminary or mid-term stage, and are on the single engineer or technology, which did not form a standardized system.Based on the current situation above, supported by the engineering practice data, adopting analyzing method of a combination of qualitative and quantitative, and choosing large-span huge steel corridor tall building, one of trends of connected tall buildings, as the researching object, this research dedicates to make a discussion about the decision and key point control of the construction method, hoping to submit certain advice to relevant engineering practice, and to make some help to the research of new construction technology and method. The main contents are as follows.1. The characteristics and current research situation are summarized briefly, and the purpose and the necessity of the research on the construction methods are introduced.2. Background with a engineering practice, the metro east business center connected with a high piece of long-span structure in Fuzhou, qualitative analyze different construction methods, summarize the range of their application, and submit advice for the determination of the construction method.3. Starting from the studying results of Part 2, analyze the theoretical principle, construction procedure and construction conditions of the integral lifting construction method of the background building, analyze the technical key point of the integral lifting construction method, and supervise the system designing.
