6kV-35kV Medium voltage electricity distribution network is an important part of the system for transmission and distribution of electrical energy, but the distribution network of frequent single-phase ground fault is an indisputable fact. If the distribution network generated by single-phase ground fault arc can not eliminate the cause of the grounding line trip will directly affect the continuity of supply to users, to people’s life and social production has caused great inconvenience in the short-term, so the distribution grid security plays an important role in the stable operation of the entire power system. The distribution network of neutral grounding directly related to the distribution network and the ability to eliminate the rate of distribution network fault trip ground arc. At present, China 6kV-35kV medium voltage distribution network they use neutral grounding via arc suppression coil. But the market Petersen coil sets of devices generally unable to meet the fast response and quick compensation effect, good linearity voltage characteristics, and can continuously adjust in a wide range of requirements. And to significantly reduce the rate of distribution network fault trip, also need to be equipped with a fast, accurate and reliable small current grounding line selection device and supporting the protection tripping device compatible with Petersen coil control. In order to comprehensively solve this problem, the authors summarize Petersen coil auto-tuning operation a few years of experience on the basis of complete sets of equipment, new research and improved fast high short-circuit impedance transformer Petersen Coil, supporting the automatic tracking device tuning arc suppression coil. New sets of equipment proposed major departure from the security of the system, a device using Multitap Petersen coil, when the single-phase ground fault occurs or there is a fault in the system (such as power failure or CT, PT disconnection) When the Petersen coil latching OLTC, it does not need to compensate for inductive current secondary device to regulate and ensure the reliable operation of the system. In addition, the protection of the damping resistor sets of devices, when single-phase ground fault occurs, by virtue of its own damping resistor voltage triggered thyristor power control in a millisecond rapid damping resistor shorted. When the ground fault elimination, control thyristor naturally shutdown. So no need to access the damping resistor box DC or AC power, this protection can make a secondary device completely separate. New sets of equipment according to actual needs, but also to complete the parallel operation of two and multiple Petersen coil. In this paper, a comprehensive analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of another market route selection system is proposed in parallel resistance line selection method. Parallel resistance line selection method in reference to the use of foreign technology in parallel across the resistor method Petersen coil, the injected current active component in the ground to ground, so that the current amplitude and phase ground has a very significant change, grounding line close to 100% accuracy. Finally, through actual operating results of the analysis proved that the distribution network Petersen coil and Fault Line proposed scheme is feasible, has a certain nature.
