With the growing environmental problems and the continuous development of power industry technology, the requirement of intelligent power grid is increasingly urgent. On the one hand, the intelligent power grid can use low carbon distribution energy more effectively and improve the environment. On the other hand, the smart grid can also use the current advanced sensor technology and information technology and make the power industry glow the new vitality. As an important part in the construction of the smart grid, the degree of intelligent substation plays a key role. Our countries are now vigorously pushing forward the construction of the intelligent substation, more and more intelligent substation has been put into use.From the point of view of stratified structure of intelligent substation, as the key equipment in the process layer of the whole structure, its stable operation has played a decisive role for the whole substation. Electronic transformer is directly connected to the high side, and it will be passed to the spacer layer intelligent devices. Given the prominent role and importance of electronic transformer, state grid corporation has made the performance tests since 2011. In order to promote the development of electronic transformer faster and better, the test standard requirements are higher. It is in line with the actual situation of network running.Firstly this article overviews the present development of electronic transformer. It reviews the principle, characteristics and classification. This article mainly aims at the hardware and software design of the acquisition system of the electronic transformer, which has detail instructions, including principle of hardware structure and software design of the program in the whole acquisition unit, In view of performance testing standards that state grid proposed. This paper introduces the project testing requirements and principle of the standard. Especially for the more prominent problem it has carried on the detailed analysis and put forward the corresponding measures. For the problems beyond the error limit in temperature cycle test accuracy, distribution compensation mode is presented. In the electromagnetic compatibility test, pulse group of immunity and surge immunity test are more prominent. Take protection measures through using the varistor, transient suppressor and surge suppressor component and so on. In view of the problems of sampling channel damage in the short-time current experiment, with the equivalent analysis method, redesign for protection circuit. Through the role of the shunt protection circuit, effectively avoid the damage of acquisition chip. It reached the standard of short-time current test. In Wuhan high voltage research institute it verifies the effectiveness of all measures. In this article, through repeated tests the test project difficult to pass are found in the electromagnetic compatibility and find the corresponding solution measures. In response to problem beyond the error limit in the accuracy of temperature cycle, effective compensation method is proposed and solve problem of sampling channel chip damage in the short current test. It plays a positive role in promotion and the stable operation of the electronic transformer.
