Traditional Chinese Kang has a history of more than thousand years. The structure of Kang is based on the experience of the folk, the involved research focus on field tests, while the heat transfer, the flow of internal flue gas and the process simulation of follow operation is less. This is bad for the thermal performance analysis of Kang, exploration of the problem in the running process and structure. Thus, this hindered the innovation and popularized application of Kang.In the study of heat transfer, not only should it consider the material, structure and operation mode but also study the flue gas flow distribution characteristics and the impact on its thermal properties.This topic combines previous research of biomass fuel heating, Kang’s thermal efficiency and structure, takes hot-wall Kang as the research subject. According to the knowledge of the heat conduction, heat convection and heat radiation in heat transfer theory, theoretical and experimental research of hot-wall Kang have been done and the mathematical model is built to assist secondary research, obtain the problem of hot-wall Kang to solve. This article has carried on the specific work as follows:First of all. the running process of Kang and hot-wall Kang have been analyzed, The solving ways of thermal conductivity, convective heat transfer and radiation involved in the running process are been told. Besides, the ash soil layer of heat storage and the radiation effect of high temperature have been analyzed and studied, which were ignored in the past. It was worked out that the largest ratio is between the ash soil layer’s and Kang plate’s heat storage in 1:6-1:7, so the heat storage function of the ash soil layer can’t be ignored; The flue of a Kang in high temperature flue gas contains the high temperature radiation gas such as CO2 and water vapor, and content of more than 20%, so the heat exchange between the Kang plate, high temperature flu and soil layer should be discussed in detail.Secondly, the hot-wall Kang test bench was designed and set up. The experimental study was conducted. Through the experiment, we obtained the thermal performance parameters of the hot-wall Kang and the room environment. At the same time, the evaluation index of hot-wall Kang was used to analyze the regularity of Outer surface temperature distribution and the heat distribution relationship between the two when they were combined. Combined with the hot-wall Kang on the thermal performance of Kang surface temperature distribution inequality deficiencies were proposed Finally, follow established the mathematical model of hot-wall Kang was established according to the theoretical and experimental basis. And through the comparing of the experimental data, the feasibility of the model is validated. The simulation of Kang surface under the condition of non-uniform temperature, the accuracy of the simulation results also is improved than in the past model. And based on the simulated data, in the aspects of structure, material optimization schemes have been proposed according to hot-wall Kang’s and traditional Kang’s problems.Above all, the paper provides scientific basis and theoretical basis for the research and application of Kang. The research results are expected to provide the basis for the rural building heating means optimization.
