With the rapid development of the world, energy is becoming more and more important, and oil has plays an important role in it. Oil resources on land is close to exhaustion, so people have gradually turned to marine resources which is extremely rich. The oil exploration in the ocean is more difficult than on the land, and requirements for marine structures are more stringent. Whether international oil transportation, or transportation after mining, oil tankers plays a crucial role in this aspect. In order to ensure the security of normal operation and self-preservation conditions of the ship, it is extremely important to study the state of motion and mooring tension responses in harsh marine environment.Using ANSYS-AQWA, preliminary study hydrodynamic performance of oil tankers. In the first, calculate various hydrodynamic parameters of the ship, including the added mass, damping, first and second order wave forces response and the response transfer function of ship motion in hydrodynamic frequency domain analysis. Results of the frequency-domain parameters provides data support for the subsequent ship time domain analysis.Using the function of calculating structural moment, shear in frequency domain analysis module, calculate the design wave parameters which makes the ship is in typical hazardous conditions, by design wave method, including the design of wave frequency, wave direction, phase an so on. So we get the water pressure distribution to prepare for the tanker strength analysis.Make coupling time domain analysis based on the results of frequency domain calculation parameters.design a vessel mooring system, according to the relevant regulatory requirements. The initial design is the four catenary mooring lines arranged symmetrically. Considering mooring properties, make analysis of coupling for mooring systems and tanker motion. Calculate the tanker motion response and mooring tension response in harsh self-preservation conditions and assess if positioning capability of mooring system and strength of mooring meets the requirements.
