As the businessdevelopment of shipyards,floating docks are used more and morefrequently.Floating dock can be used for ship repair,new built ship launching and ship conversion.Mooring design is an important item which can support the windlass selection,mooring chainorder and structure design of floating dock.So the study for mooring analysisis a significant item in floating dock design.There are two types for floating docking mooring: fixed type and anchoring type.Fixed type mooring used for small floating docks which withstand less environment loads.In general,the mooring type for big floating dock is anchoring type.But now less rules and research about big floating dock mooring design and analysis can be found.Then the object of this paper is to carry out hydrodynamic analysis for big floating dock and optimization which include item followed by below topics:1.To carry out frequency domainanalysis use Hydrodynamic Diffraction module in ANSYS software.Then we can get the floating dock motion Response Amplitude Operator.To analysis the result of frequency domain analysis and find laws for floating dock motion.2.To carry out time domain analysis use Hydrodynamic Response module in ANSYS software.To study the result of a range of load cases such as the dock position,mooring cabletension force and anchor point uplift force and find the load case and location which have maximum response.To study the reason for these response.3.To optimize the mooring arrangement base on the analysis,compare the results after optimization.To draw lessons from the optimization and used for floating dock mooring system design.
