In the power system, measuring temperature of electrical equipment is a very important work, including the contact temperature measurement and non-contact measurement this stage, while contact measurement is cumbersome, dangerous. The infrared temperature measurement technology is based on the principle of infrared radiation to measure temperature of body, it possesses the advantages of non-contact, fast response, wide temperature range and so on. This paper designed an infrared temperature measurement system, aimed at the high-voltage substation switching contacts.This paper introduces the general temperature measurement technology and the infrared radiation law, then the factors that bring about infrared temperature measurement deviation are analyzed. According to the actual needs, it realizes the infrared temperature measurement system overall design and selects the types of all components, using STM32 micro-controllers and an infrared sensor MLX90614 as well as temperature sensor DS18B20 to collect target temperature and ambient temperature. It also introduces the hardware system part and software design. As for the existence of infrared sensor temperature measurement errors, it needs to compensate for its measurements using infrared temperature measurement system to measure the temperature of the target at different distances. According to experimental data fitting the distance factor correction curve of the infrared sensor, it achieves the proper temperature compensation, which is written into software to realize compensation of the measured temperature from the infrared sensor. The time, temperature and distance information are displayed on the LCD screen and stored in the internal FLASH simultaneously. The micro-controller communicates with the PC using RS232 serial port, PC can read the data that are stored in the FLASH and modify the sleep cycle of the system.By testing function of the system, it suggests that the system can not only realize the functional requirements, but also do some compensation to the target temperature measured by infrared sensors to some extent. On the whole, the cost of system development is low, yet with high stability.
