Automotive hub bearing is one of the key foundations for car components, whether performance of the automotive hub bearing is high or not, it has a crucial impact on the performance of the car. Parallelism error of the end surface of automotive bearing inner ring is an important indicator of quality that can measure whether automotive hub bearing meet a criterion or not, and it affects assembly accuracy and precision rotation of automotive bearings unit. The research on parallelism error of the end surface of automotive bearing inner ring in domestic is still very little, and its measurement methods are mostly static manual measurements, which are inefficient, labor-intensive, poor reliability, greater impact of human factors and it has very strict requirements for human experience on measurement. To solve this problem, the paper proposes a parallelism error of the end surface of automotive bearing inner ring differential measurement system which can be used in production lines and assembly lines of automotive hub bearing, and it can measure parallelism error of some kinds of the wheel bearing inner rings by change fixture.The paper is based on researches on theories and methods and equipment of parallelism error at home and abroad, and from the evaluation principles and methods of plane to plane parallelism error, and through the analysis of the four fitting methods on reference plane of parallelism error, create reference plane of plane to plane parallelism error by minimum condition method, and determine the principles and work process of the measuring instrument. The research completed the overall design, the design of the key modules and the parts and components with many design methods, and analyzes the key parts by using ANSYS. Based on the mechanical structure and motion flow of machine, design the principle of electric control system. Analyze the various factors that may cause errors in the measurement system by analyzing the sources of error in the measurement system, and evaluation magnitude of the various factors, and it can provide a theoretical guidance to ensure the accuracy of the measurement system. At last, estimate and evaluate the measurement accuracy of the system by using Uncertainty and Measurement Systems Analysis.The research gradually establishes the principle and structure of the end surface of automotive bearing inner ring based on the study and comparison of parallelism error measurement system theory and practical equipment, and eventually develops a parallelism error of the end surface of automotive bearing inner ring measuring instrument to meet Sino-Japanese joint venture of automotive bearings business needs with high level of automation, versatility, on-line measurement. In addition, these studies may also provide some ideas for the development of other parallelism error measuring instrument.
