With the continuous progress of economy and society, together with the development of science and technology and informatization, global resources and energy have exposed more and more problems. From the situation of energy distribution in China and the region differences of electric load, our country puts forward the efficient utilization of renewable energy. How to take the efficient use of wind and photovoltaic power, became very important. No matter wind or photovoltaic power generation which works alone, the output power changes greatly because of the environment around them. The combination of the two system as a new one, which is named wind-photovoltaic power generation system, aim to make full use of the two resources. How to play the coordinated control of the two system in the greatest degree, is an important index to judge the system superiority. Not only the performance of the system, but also the cost must be considered. This paper studied the control strategy and storage capacity of the wind-solar hybrid generation system.Firstly, the components of wind power generation system were studied. The wind power generation part included wind speed, wind turbine model and the calculation of wind power; photovoltaic power generation part included the principle and the calculation of capacity; the storage portion included the principle of common energy storage element. Then compared their advantages.Secondly, studid the algorithms of maximum power of photovoltaic and wind power generation system, according to their advantages and disadvantages, proposed a control method in use of changing step size to adjust duty cycle. This paper studied a situation that combined the super capacitor and battery to supply power, it was found that the method was much better in output performance.Finally, made the loss of produced power probability and loss of power supply probability as the reliability index, proposed a capacity optimizing model of energy storage of wind-photovoltaic power generation system, the calculation process was analysed, then worked out the result function in an improved genetic algorithm. At the end of the paper, combined with an example, got the result expected.
