Vehicle engine’s reliability is a significant index to evaluate the engine’s quality. This article is based on a domestic engine manufacturers produce engines to study, with engine failure recorders in the assembly and after-sales service as sample. the establishment of a database management system for data processing, on the basis of fault distribution fitting model and the use of the model index analysis and life prediction. In recent research, most engine reliability studies use a single distribution model to analyze them. But the engine system is a complex combination of mechanical and electrical mixture components, and the reliability of the distribution is affected by many factors. If just use only a single model for its distribution fitting. Large errors may occur at some stage of the fitting failure. So to fit the distribution model, first select the two-parameter Weibull distribution model. Then on the basis of the establishment of a dual two-parameter Weibull distribution, and use of accelerated iterative algorithm to estimate the parameters to obtain a better quasi combined effect. On the basis of the double two-parameter Weibull distribution model, to calculate the early failures and accidental turning point of failure and engine reliability related indicators. At last, based on Maintenance Free Operating Period (MFOP) and Failure Free Operating Period (FFOP) theory to create a predictive model for engine recommend maintenance period.
