Automobile chassis dynamometer has been widely used as a equipment which can detect power performance. But when testing the new car or churning out new models by conventional chassis dynamometer, the car need to be assembled and fixed by rope. The course is so complex that may damage the car parts. By avoiding removal and installation the parts once by once and improve the efficiency of vehicle when factory test activities, so the new research about using hydraulic technology simulations auto suspension has been put forward.First, analysis the force when the car driving on the road or on the chassis dynamometer, and ascertain the setting method of the chassis dynamometer when testing, and then work out the relationship between driving resistance and time by deduced. Make sure the overall design scheme by analysis the car’s force in different direction, and design the hydraulic circuit. Eventually, complete the design of hydraulic system and type selection. Finally, establish the mathematical model of the elements and the electric-hydraulic proportional control system. Accomplish the main parameters according to requirements of the design, and obtain the transfer function of the system. The system’s control segment and hydraulic segment was established using MATLAB and AMESim simulation software respectively. To simulate the car traffic accurately, the discontinuous road was substituted by square wave, the unstructured terrain was replaced by sinusoidal signal, the constant force signal instead of the smooth ride. Lastly, using PID control strategy to adjust the system, and by the critical ratio method getting parameter values. By contrasting and fine tuning, optimal parameters was gained and the system has good stability and dynamic characteristics.Through analysis and research, automotive suspension electro-hydraulic proportional loading system was designed. By this system, the vehicle’s working condition can be simulated nicely, and there is no need to assemble the whole car when check the chassis, improving the work efficiency and saving the cost of production.
