Power transformer is one of the main equipment for substations and converter stations, whose main role is to increase the voltage, lower voltage. With the rapid development of China’s economy, a lot of new or expanded residential substation distance getting closer, and even some substations built directly in a residential area. Since the noise generated when the transformer impact on residents living near the substation and rest, therefore, the power transformer noise studies in order to control the noise substations and produce low vibration, low noise power transformer is important.In this paper, the mechanism of power transformer noise propagation path analysis power transformer core and winding vibration and noise, and to summarize the current domestic transformer manufacturers commonly used measures to reduce noise transformer generation mechanism according to its transmission. Using these measures against certain manufacturers SZ11-50000/110 models of power transformers for low-noise electromagnetic design, and external noise reduction measures taken by the transformer, the prototype has been designed noise, and finally by comparison with the noise test results, noise level prototype to achieve the desired objectives.
