The rapid development of smart grid to power grid intelligent put forward higher request, quickly locate problems and troubleshooting occupies more and more of the components in the system, is becoming more and more important. This topic research the grid based on Beidou satellite system research of traveling wave fault location system, the application of Beidou satellite timing and function of short message communication, for of traveling wave fault location precision timing, and the two most important link of real-time communication provides a very safe and stable and reliable protection.Paper first analyzes the timing of Beidou satellite and the principle of short message communication, based on this, puts forward using Beidou method of the single or double redundancy mode; Simultaneous contrast analyzes the characteristics of different satellite timing of coding, in particular, the application of which is based on cdma spread spectrum communication, reducing the Beidou bit error rate in the process of information transfer. Through the analysis of the characteristics of the satellite timing and crystal vibration timing, is proposed based on all digital phase-locked loop of high precision timing system, established a new model of the high precision timing, and the simulation verification, confirmed that the system have apparent effect on the improvement of the clock timing accuracy; At the same time, innovative Beidou satellite short message communication is applied to of traveling wave fault location system, puts forward a set of Beidou communication process, mechanism, the structure of the Beidou communication information is analyzed in detail, and the frame structure and the content has carried on the detailed elaboration, building of traveling wave fault location based on Beidou system and puts forward the innovative mechanisms to reduce ber. At the end of the article, detailed instructions on the system hardware structure, and is verified by experiment.Theoretical analysis and experimental results show that the system has realized the high precision timing for the of traveling wave fault location device, communication ability can satisfy the requirements of the device for information communication, improve the intelligent level of the power grid. The achievements of our grid autonomy platform construction have laid a solid theoretical and technical basis.
