A Laboratory Study Of Ecological Slope Protection By Geotextile

In highway construction, lots of cutting slopes and embankment slopes were produced, if these slopes were built with improper protection measures, they often cause ecological problems and security issues. In order to prevent slope accidents and restore imbalance of the ecological environment caused by construction, the ecological slope protection is imperative, and the study of ecological slope protection technology becomes imminent.This article focused on the study of geotextile, as a building material, geotextile is widely used. In order to reach objectives of the study, a variable-angle indoor slope device was designed, the slope device contained panel slot, pedestal, stiffener, stem and sliding screw nut mechanism, it can be adjusted to simulated slopes that’s slope angle between 20° and 70°. A rainfall equipment, membrane sheltered system, rainfall system and stabilivolt control system were designed, the rainfall intensity and rainfall area can be adjusted through the switch system to meet the request of rain experiment. A slope ecological protection by geotextile that can reinforce soil, reinforce sand and anti-washout was designed, the use of geotextile for ecological slop protection can reach the goal of prevent the rains wash out and suitable for vegetation greening. Through study of indoor experiment to test different widths of coverage, different spacing distance, whether or not set the protuberant structure of geotextile protection structure and analysis the experiment results, selected the best widths of coverage, best spacing distance and structural form, to determine the optimal combination as the best choice of ecological slope protection structure by geotextile. Then study the ecological protection structure by geomembrane, and compare the advantages and disadvantages of the two protection structure. Based on the result of the laboratory experiment, the filed experiment of protection structure by geotextile was carried out to test its protective effect under field conditions.
