In contemporary society studies about indoor thermal environment mainly concentrate on residual buildings and public buildings with large space. But special buildings exist for the reasons of different climates in China with large area, among which the typical ones being tents, bamboo towers and caving dwellings indoor thermal environment of which is of particularity for their special materials and construction technologies. Compared with general residual buildings, their indoor environment is worse, most of which turning away from thermal comfort. Combination board rooms used for temporary dwelling, and the research of their indoor environment is even harder, which is because the lack of shelters and the limits of costs with time.Main work and results of this paper are listing as follows:1. Wall temperatures of each construction layer have been gained through the establishment of heat transfer matrix equations of wall. Then solutions have been gotten under different thickness of rock wool, and the temperature of each side are computed as well.2. Indoor thermal environment of one combined board room in Xi’an are chosen as testing object, and the parameters contains indoor and outdoor air temperature, relative humidity, both inside and outside wall temperature, wind speed, black ball temperature and so on. The field tests are carried in three stages, namely summer, winter and transition seasons, the testing results studied.3. According to the measured board houses, the simulation model is established using Design Builder software. To reflect the thermal environment closer to current situation, we have compared the results of field test with simulation results.4. Based on simulation results, to explore passive improvement measures for the combined board room, the following two points are done:(1) the analysis of indoor thermal environment with sunshade and without sunshade.(2) comparative analysis in the summer and winter when the thickness of palisade structure of rock wool layer are changed and corresponding effects. The research results of combined houses indoor thermal environment show that theindoor air temperature of adding shade is 0.5℃~5.6℃, lower than take a window ventilated, effect of which is much better, and setting the shade shack form removable for activities will not affect the normal the lighting of the housing demand in winter.Increasing the rock wool layer thickness in the summer, as a result of the rock wool layer heat storage capacity, the temperature and humidity in the evening will be higher; And rock wool in winter layer thickness of the insulation effect is better than the summer heat insulation effect, but if you increase the thickness exceedingly, the final results will be not only uneconomic, but also could not achieve the desired effect. Measured board room, when the thickness of the layer of rock wool to the wall 89 mm, roof 60 mm, 110 mm ground is the most reasonable.
