In recent years,the country advocated that develops the industrialized building vigorously, which is the inevitable requirement of economic structural adjustment and economic growth mode transformation, this is also the direction and goals of our construction industry development. The steel structure can be highly industrialized, so the steel building system is undoubtedly the most suitable architecture for prefabricated buildings. Its advantage is that the seismic performance, construction speed, energy-saving and environmental protection, in line with national policy guidance and the requirements of the building industrial production request.This article use a fabricated steel frame construction demonstration project in Jinan as an example, discussed how to choose suitable for prefabricated steel structure system selection and envelope system, on this base, analysis the cost of the main structure parts on pilot project and contrast its economy with traditional construction way. Secondly, analysis the total cost of prefabricated steel structure building system, and contrast with its economy with cast-in-situ concrete structure system, explore the main factors of prefabricated steel structure building system cost. Studies show that:(1) The cost of PK prestressed composite floor slab is nearly equal to the cost of cast-in-situ concrete. Therefore, precast floor slab is not the main controlling factor of the overall cost.(2) The cost of main body frame, wall panel system and floor system in the proportion of the total cost are 44.46%,30.78% and 15.73% in prefabricated steel structure building system. Therefore, we must control the cost of main structure and wallboard system to control the cost of prefabricated steel structure building system.(3) In the new precast concrete composite wallboard plugin, material cost accounts for 66% of the total cost and the cost of a mechanical charge is about 27.13%. So, we can reduce the cost of materials and mechanical to control the total cost of prefabricated steel structure building wall system.
