With the progress of social and economic development, people require bridge engineering not only as a structure to across barrier, but also have landscape effect and become a landmark. The self-anchored suspension bridge is just about provided with these requirements, therefore the engineer of many countries and regions prefer to this kind of bridge. However, frequent earthquake caused a lot of bridge structure damage and made huge losses of people’s life and property. So how to protect the self-anchored suspension bridges to stand the test of seismic action is worthy further studying. The article is based on the above background, taking the Tao Hua Yu Yellow River Bridge as the research object to analyze the seismic response of long-span self-anchored suspension bridge. The main works and results are as follows.(1) Using the special bridge analysis software to build the finite element numerical analysis model and determine the reasonable design state of the bridge, then research on dynamic performance in the basis of design state.(2) Using the free vibration frequency formulas of self-anchored suspension bridge to solve the analytical solutions of Tao Hua Yu Yellow River Bridge, then comparing to the numerical and the analytical solutions, reaching a conclusion that the frequency of the corresponding vibration mode maximum deviation less than 10 percent, getting a good agreement.(3) Using the response spectrum method to analyze the seismic response of the self-anchored suspension bridge. Get the internal force and the displacement of the key position of girder and tower under the two kinds of working condition which are longitudinal plus vertical input and transverse plus vertical input.(4) Using time-history analysis method to study the seismic response of the in considering the consistent excitation and traveling effect and multi-support excitation of the stochastic earthquake ground motion, then comparing the result of consistent excitation with the result of response spectrum and the traveling wave excitation and multi-support excitation, Analyzing the influence which the traveling wave excitation and the partial coherent effect to the long-span self-anchored suspension bridge’s seismic response.
