Study On Xinyang Traditional Towns Settlement Spatial Mode Under Backgrounds Of Regional Culture Of South Henan

The formation and development of Settlement are closely related to regional culture. The traditional towns settlement and dwellings are an important carrier of regional culture and also important physical information to research regional culture. Influenced by regional culture, settlement characteristics showed diversity. As people re-examine the value of the local culture, they paid more attention to the protection of traditional material and non-material.Traditional Villages and residential buildings is not only the roots of traditional culture,but also where contemporary nostalgia lies.Xinyang, located in southern Henan Province,belongs to Huaihe River.And south of it are Dabie Mountains.Since ancient times, it is an important passage for economic and cultural exchanges between the north and south.Of its long history,it is one of the birthplace of Chinese civilization. Many surnames are formed here. Traditional towns settlement and dwellings in Xinyang area are affected by the local culture, showing its distinctive style features. Currently, traditional towns settlement and dwellings in Xinyang area are preserved in intact quality with large quantity and have its unique style in Henan.With the development of modern towns, Xinyang regional spatial shape pattern and architectural style of many towns and villages is undergoing rapid changes. How to protect and adapt times change is a major problem faced by traditional village and town construction.The paper aims to collect data on the verge of disappearing on the basis of data study and field survey of traditional towns settlement and dwellings in Xinyang.Begin with settlement, an integrated system with a close relationship with natural environment, historical and cultural background,I studied the overall spatial mode system of Xinyang towns settlement. Then I Studied the cause of its formation, the internal mechanism, spatial morphology and cultural characteristics in geographical and cultural background.And summarized its settlement spatial pattern features.The paper is divided into six chapters. The first chapter is introduction.It mainly talked about the background and significance,relevant concepts, methods and framework of research of theses.The second chapter is about Xinyang traditional villages status settlement and research analysis.It mainly reviewed the investigation in saved situation and distribution aspect.The third chapter is geographical and cultural backgrounds analysis in the southern part of Henan.And it summarized its regional culture with characteristics of landscape culture,farming culture, blending culture,etc.Chapter four and five, respectively, explored the spatial mode characteristics in both aspects of overall traditional villages and residential space pattern.After investigation, I summarized the spatial mode characteristics of Xinyang traditional towns settlement :Settlement is located near the water source and layout in accordance with the terrain conditions, back by mountain and facing gullies; Settlement is gathered facing the water,and pond is deployed before the village; The buildings layout facing the street,with house and yard attached to each other.
