With the development of intelligent transportation, more and more enterprises begin to engage in research and development of intelligent transportation terminal equipment.But, as the entire industry does not have a unified standard specification, causing the particularity between products from different vendors. It is private correspondence between the management software and terminal equipment from the different vendors. It does not have the "interoperability" and "interchangeability" between management software and terminal equipment.If a plurality of terminal devices from different vendors are used in an intelligent transportation network, in order to integrate different devices, the control platform have to compatible with a variety of different communication protocols. This will enable the development of control platform become extremely complicated, and loss of versatility and scalability.A solution is provided in the text. Use a agent software developed by terminal vendors to manage different terminal equipment, what make the design and development of control platform become easy without considering the Particularity of terminal equipment.Agent system shields diverse communication protocols from different vendors of terminal equipment, instead using a unified interface to communication with control platform. Once the interface specification for communication between the control platform and agent system to be decided, they can be developed simultaneously.Based on the complete terminal control system, this paper realized a design and development of a agent system.Firstly, Message-oriented middleware technology what using asynchronous message exchange data will be used to solve the coupling between the control platform and the agent system. Format of the data is XML.It allows user-defined tags meaning, what will help user to develop their own information system.The file structure of XML is structured, which help agent system to distinguish between different types of packets.We can reference the model of server when we design the architecture of agent system, because the way of agent system deal the packets is similar to the way of server handle the client requests.But, the design of agent system is based on the complete terminal control system. We must consider the interactive mode between API and the embedded system when we design the application architecture of the agent system.We didn’t use database to manage the data of agent system. The main function of the agent system is to change the format of data, so we needn’t use database management system to manager these data.
