Urban rail traffic system has several advantages,the large capacity, high speed, punctuality rate and so on. In the domestic, a number of cities have built the urban rail traffic system, while someother, the urban trail traffic system is under the construction. In order to gather and evacuate the passengers, the rail traffic need to coordinate with the routine ground public transit system, gathering and evacuating the passengers system before it realizes the network operation.Feeder bus is a kind of public transport method, the major function is gathering and evacuating the passengers. Feeder bus belongs to the ground public transit, which is flexibility and efficiency. At present, in our country, the density of rail transit network is generally low. The establishment and improvement of feeder bus system, has an advantage of expanding the passengers’ attraction in the rail transit. What’s more, it will cultivate the passenger corridor in the rail lines and meet the increasing traffic demand in the city. Besides, it is conducive to building a city public traffic integration system.In this paper, combined with the research results, discussing the problems between the rail transit and conventional bus transit and feeder public transit system route optimization and coordination. According to the existing main achievements and problems in the research, drafting the research ideas and technical route of this paper.Confirming the characteristics and position of the feeder bus in the city’s mass transit system, by analyzing the relationship between the rail transit network and conventional bus network. Next, analyzing the influencing factors of choosing feeder bus to travel. Then, analyzing the rail feeder station and the candidate route in the feeder bus, as a result, giving generation method for the route set in the feeder bus, which prepares for the construction and solution of the model in the next step.Constructing the model of feeder bus route and timetable coordination based on the foregoing analyses. The model regards maximizing the effective service for passengers, minimizing the time costs, minimizing the operating costs as goals. And establish a multi-objective model. Then, analyzing the multi-objective model by choosing non dominated sorting genetic algorithm. And an example is given to validate the model and algorithm.Finally, completing the Chongqing Metro Line 3 north extension line feeder public transit planning based on the forgoing research. Verifying the proposed feeder bus route and timetable optimization model is feasible and exercisable. It has some practical significance to the research of feeder public transit system in the urban rail transit.
