Bridges with Prefabricated Small Box Girders and T girders have been wid ely used, because of its unique advantages(such as shorter construction period, higher quality assurance by precast factories, less affected by site environment, etc.),The substructure of this kind of bridge commonly uses the single-column p ier, double-column and multi-column pier. For the double-column and multi-colu mn pier, usually set up a cross-tie beam at pier in order to increase the integrit y and stability of the piers, when the height of the pier exceeds a certain level.However, the influence of the cross-tie beams set on double-column pier to its seismic performance has not gotten a unanimous conclusion yet and the stud y on it is still not enough.In this paper, by using FEM analysis software SAP2000,through Pushover a nalysis,the seismic performance of the double-column pier with or without cross-tie beams is studyed. Main works done are as follows:①Analysis of the load capacity, displacement ductility, internal forces of th e double-column pier with or without the tie beam has been done and the resul ts have been compared.②Reasonable position of the tie beam has been studyed through comparing analysis in the situation of using one tie beam.③Reasonable cross-sectional dimensions of the tie beam has been studyed t hrough comparing analysis in the situation of using one tie beam.④Reasonable cross-sectional dimensions of the tie beam in the situation of using two tie beams.⑤By compariing the analysis results,the design principle of the cross tie be am has been discussed.
