With the construction of low-speed maglev in Changsha, the low-speed maglev transportation of China formally entered the stage of engineering application, but on the maglev transportation route design, there are no standard reference. In the research phase, we have constructed some railway for dynamic characteristics testing, but the test line is too shorter to dynamic characteristics. At this stage, the research object is three bogie maglev trains, but it is not most optimal for five bogie. Maximum grade, as one of the technical designing standards of railway vertical section, has vital influence on railway project economy and dynamic characteristics.In order to determine the maximum grade of maglev railway reasonably, this paper uses the method of theoretical analysis and dynamic analysis to study. In the aspect of theory analysis, the paper study the transaction condition and emergency braking condition; In the aspect of dynamics analysis, based on studying the running system of five bogie traveling maglev vehicle, the paper uses SIMPACK software to establish dynamic vehicle-rail model and using the dynamics model to study maglev trail s dynamic characteristics under different conditions of train running on the maximum gradient.According the theoretical analysis and dynamic analysis, it can be concluded that the maximum longitudinal force of emergency braking is higher than the maximum longitudinal force of transaction condition. In the transaction condition, the ride comfort of passengers basically meet the specification requirements and the maximum longitudinal force meet the requirements of the actual situation. In the emergency braking condition, the maximum longitudinal force also meet the requirements of the actual situation and the maximum deceleration meet the ride comfort of passengers requirements. By compared the data of theoretical analysis and dynamic analysis, the result was consistent. Through the study of this paper, it can give suggestion of the maximum gradient of five bogie low speed maglev traffic.
