With the rapid development of China’s economy, the new high-speed railway lines have been opened, new technology, new equipment and constantly put into operation, the high speed train travel has become an important tool for people to essential, but the traditional high-speed train design patterns not only response to customer demand slowly, adjust the design scheme with delay, but also the reuse of successful design results and experience in corporate is low, the cycle of development is long with low efficiency of designs. The reuse of design results and shorting cycle of development is aim of rapid design technology. The rapid design not only enables companies to adapt to rapidly changing customer demand, but also to improve the efficiency of design, and to use corporate design resources effectively.In response to these difficulties companies encountered in the body design of high-speed, the article treat high-speed train body as studying object, the customer demand is considered as import to direct the follow-up rapid design by studying the high-speed train body demand and mapping method, and then the rapid design of train body completed by knowledge representation and configuration model, using configuration design and variant design using. The main contents of this article include:(1) By studying customer demand geted by elicitation, the demand repository is establishmented, analysing the approach of body description and mapping which is Rule-Based to achieve customer demand -transformation.(2) Analysis of the current high-speed train body which included of the structure, interfaces, and the design process, using object-oriented method to research the representation of knowledge and reasoning mechanism.(3) To achieve rapid vehicle design, the general GPCM has be researched, combining the characteristics of body, the improved GPCM is established, on this basis, the scheme of configuration design and variant design are researched to achievethe rapid design of body.(4) with the rapid design method,the demand-oriented rapid design system of high-speed train body was developped on the VS2008 software platform, the system used the method of object oriented programming, and verify the feasibility of the design method of body.
