In recent years, with the continuous development of Internet of Things and real estate industry, intelligent building has attracted much more attention. The appearance of intelligent building has brought more convenience and comforts to people’s daily life. At present, intelligent building is mainly developing in directions as follows: converting from analogue technique to digital technique, changing from dedicated network to IP network in transmission system, with higher system integration level, nicer appearance and more convenient operation. Currently, the development of intelligent building is in the initial stage, and there still are some defects:low system integration level, single transmission mode, little usage of clean energy and poor user experience.Following the developing trend and addressing the defects of intelligent building, the paper proposed a design scheme of intelligent building with solar power supply, to meet the higher demand of intelligent building. In this design the intelligent building system has features as follow:smart home will be integrated into intelligent building, and building’s intelligent node will be designed with a higher system integration level; wireless and wired transmission modes will be adopted, and configured in intelligent building selectively; integrated management and monitoring platform will be provided for building managers and home users to monitor and manage the intelligent devices in intelligent building, for enhancing the user experience; solar power supply will be adopted in applicable place to make full use of clean energy. This design mainly includes the following aspects:Firstly, based on an ARM platform, a smart gateway with a touch panel is designed as the management and monitoring platform, for forwarding data between internal control network and the external IP network. Secondly, the system adopts the ZigBee wireless technique combined with the RS-485 wired technique to provide efficient and stable transmission system for intelligent building. Thirdly, the intelligent node is designed, which is used to control all devices and collect the security data. Fourthly, a centralized management server is setup and a software is designed based on the MFC platform, for monitoring and managing the whole building. Finally, this design used solar energy as additional power supply, which is applied in right place.The system designed in this paper not only keeps the advantages of traditional intelligent buildings, but also conquers some of the defects proposed above, aiming to provide users a more convenient, safer and energy-efficient building environment. According to the design, the intelligent system is prototyped and tested. The results show that all the modules achieve their functions and work stably, in line with predetermined design requirements. At the end of this paper, the application prospect of the system is analyzed, and some suggestions to improve the current system are given.
