With the status of distribution room in city distribution network becomes more and more important, power system urgently need to effectively master the information of power operating environment. However, the current distribution automation has not been effectively extend to this field. Based on the actual demand of the power system maintenance, this paper organized, designed and implemented a power environment monitoring system which can be applied to the residential power distribution room with the characteristics of security, stability and economic, to adapt to the future direction of the power system.Firstly, this paper started with two basic modes of the distribution room environment monitoring system, and analyzed the two forms of architecture—IPC+ acquisition card + configuration software and server + embedded software. By comparing the capability, integration ability and stability in the industrial environment of general interface, selected a suitable technical route. Through the analysis of several wired and wireless communication mode for automated monitoring about its channel characteristics, capacity, stability and economy, this paper selected the small-scale, fast network ones for the system. Also the MY SQL database was determined by comparing the pros and cons of mainstream database.Secondly, in this paper, the hardware system used the most popular structure in the power environment centralized monitoring system—the triple structure, which is composing by the local network supervision center SC, region supervision station SS and on-site supervision unit SU. This paper elaborated the basic principles of the transformer, temperature and humidity, security, fire control, entrance guard,and selected the FCS field control bus which is suitable for the industrial environment to communicate each module with the centralized monitoring computer. The software system adopted the mainstream configuration software in control engineering, designed the systematic working method and data processing process, and programmed the functional modules of the system.Finally, the research achievements of this paper was put on use in a new residential distribution room, and achieved the remote monitoring on the power utility information of the transformer voltage, current, active power, reactive power and power factor. At the same time, the temperature and humidity monitoring, entrance guard monitoring, water leakage sensor monitoring, video monitoring content were integrated into the same set of system, which achieved the comprehensive monitoring on power environment. This research also reserved expansion function by joining the second room, summarized of the problems during the installation and debugging, and accumulated valuable operating experience.
