The twenty-first Century will be the century of ecology, facing the situation that human society will gradually transform from industrial society to ecological society, the international competition will be, in fact, the competition in the ecological environment. Good ecological environment of the city, will be able to attract more talents, material and invest, which will become a stronger competitive advantage. The construction of "ecological city", "garden city", "green city" has gradually become the mode if city construction and the goal of development.According to the current problems faced by most of the cities, lack of land resources, population density, air pollution, garbage pollution, noise pollution and other serious environmental problems hinder the ecological construction of the city. If we want to use the limited green area to maintain the balance of ecological system. It must put the city plane greening level to the urban spatial development,that is why the three-dimensional green came into being in the city. Three-dimensional greening has many spacial advantages, smaller area, less investment and quick reaction, easy promotion, and as the rate of green vision and green landscape is quiet higher in the city, the quality of green landscape is better and three-dimensional greenwill show its feasibility and importance in the domain of greening around the world.This memory mainly studies the application of three-dimensional greening in the city, especially in Qingdao, analyzes the concept, the origine, the function and the significance, the status at home and abroad, the content ofthree-dimensional greening and the plant configuration, and does a research for the Qingdao city residential areas, streets, education environment, bridges, public office, commercial, religious buildings and the modern square stereo greening situation, according to the actual situation of greening in Qingdao,analyzing the existing problems, the development level, development trends, in order to sum up the strategies and measures for further development of Qingdao City, as well as the three-dimensional green ecological city construction.The core part of this paper is mainly aimed at distributed locations, greening scale during the on-site investigation in Qingdao in different functional areas, the survey contains the main form, the frequency of plants application, the greening plant configuration, plant growth and other indicators, and the confluence of the content mentioned above are concluded by using the Excel software system. Comparing the Qingdao function zone greening situation both at home and abroad with reference to the real case, we can put forward the feasibility of the method and theory and sum up the measures for further development of vertical greening in Qingdao City:(1).three-dimensional green development with characteristics of Qingdao;(2). the combining development of earth covered architecture and urban green space;(3).the development of green plants and green energy with the combination of the reference light source to increase the use of the under ground space stereo greening plants;(4).the development of green business model combining with plants and commercial advertising;(5). the generalization and application of green furniture who combine the furniture with plants;(6).the development of Qingdao green furniture "movable" green.To improve the urban ecological environment worsening today, building the "ecological city" has become an inevitable trend of the development of the city, in order to change the present situation that the ground greening are eroded, three-dimensional green will become a greening trend with the advantages such as space saving, low cost, good effect.
