With the rapid development of highway, safety and aesthetics of greenbelt have received much attention. At present, artificial irrigation by water tanker trailer is the most common method used in highway greenbelt irrigation, which is low efficiency and high safety hidden danger. It is the inevitable choice for China in the future to search secure,flexible, fast and high efficiency water-saving greenbelt irrigation technology.This subject researched on plant water requirement, irrigation technology selection, irrigation control technology, irrigation pipe network security evaluation, material selection and the layout of pipe network in the method of data collection, site visits, expert advice, experiments and so on. The main results were as follows:Firstly, this paper put forward water consumption, irrigation quota, irrigation cycle of syringa oblate and Amygdalustriloba based on Jilin’s local hydrological, meteorological and soil conditions. Secondly, appropriate forms of water-saving irrigation technology and control technology were proposed through outdoor test considered impact on plant growth, composite cost and durability of engineering. Thirdly, indexes of pipeline burial depth and anti-frost, and type and layout of pipe which were suitable for highway greenbelt irrigation were proposed by means of the highway irrigation pipe stress analysis, freeze-proofing and suitable depth experime-experimental studies.
