Car body welding fixture is an important part of the car manufacturing, the quality of which directly affects the Car body welding precision. However, welding fixture design in China is started lately. The ability to independently design and manufacture of high precision and high automation of welding fixtures and welding prod uction lines is lower, and having the high failure rate. This paper designs a special welding fixture for a car frame of 0.8mm Low-carbon steel, which has a higher degree of welding precision and automation, to improve the quality of assembly and welding and the productivity of the car door. At last, do numerical simulation analyses of car frame spot welding process, to optimize the parameters of spot welding process.On the basis of studying car body structures, welding fixture basic structure and design principles, this paragraph car frame of 0.8mm Low-carbon steel welding fixture design are analyzed and formulated. In this paper, the modular design idea is adopted. The design of the car frame welding fixture into the up connecting plate, the lower connecting plate, side and frame beams four modules, then orientation programs are developed. At last, complete the design of the welding fixture. For the design of clamping and positioning device of up and lower connecting plate, taking into account its special spatial structure, the clamping device and the supporting mechanism is divided into two independent parts, to ensure the smooth handling and assembly precision of the connecting plate. For the clamping arm design of locating and clamping device, clamping arms were designed. It can position two anchor points closer quickly. At last, welding test of 0.8mm car frame used the set of welding fixture, in order to obtain the optimum welding condition.According to car body welding process requirements, the finite element simulation software was used to simulate the spot welding, to analyze the variation of temperature field, stress, strain field, providing a theoretical reference for optimizing the parameters of spot welding process.This paper designs a special welding fixture for a car frame of 0.8mm Low-carbon steel, which can locate and clamp quickly and reliably. It can overcome the deficiencies of deformation of the car frame after welding, improving the precision of weldment. The fixture is operated flexibility, with high degree of automation. This paper does numerical simulation analyses of car frame spot welding process. Studying the variation of temperature field, stress field, strain field to provide the basis for optimize the parameters of spot welding process.
