Planning, Establishment And Application Of Furu Farm

We started to build and develop Furu Farm in April 2012, according to the general plan of lei sure agriculture and village tourism which was made in 2011. Furu Farm develops tourism and lei sure activities by making good use of the local resources, such as agricultural landscape, agricultur al production conditions,village and red tourism. This kind of’agriculture and tourism’busines s model not only can develop agriculture, protect the ecological environment, and expand the enter tainment function of village, but also can improve agriculture efficiency and bring prosperity to th e rural economy. However, we found there was a deviation between the plan and the local market needs, and the feasibilities of some projects became problems to the farm operation. In the original plan, as the position of the whole project was not clear, so the practice was poor, leading to high c ost. What was worse, we lacked of the marketing research and analysis, making the plan be divorc ed from the reality. In addition, there are a lot of problems in the original plan, for example, we fo cused on the plan, investing the fixed asset and tourism, but ignored the detail practices, soft powe r and agriculture. These problems largely restricted the industry development of our farm. So this s tudy fully made good use of the theory of landscape gardening, and integrated with the farm practi ces to revise the plan. We will make the best of the farm land, meanwhile, we are planning to impr ove the landscape effect through using garden landscapes. We will focus on the planning backgrou nd and the local nature and society environment of Furu Farm, seeking a solution of developing m odern leisure-agriculture and village tourism with the way of adjusting measures to local condition s. Furthermore, we are about to equip the farm development with landscape horticulture science th eories and we will insist practicing agriculture and village tourism concepts all the time. On accou nt of some existing problems, we will modify and perfect the plan. And we are hoping to make the farm to be a model by the process of practice-theory-practice again-learning theory again. Last but not the least, we will reflect lessons and concluded some experiences. After three years practic ing, now Furu Farm is rated as the model of agriculture-leisure farm in Fujian Province, the three-star village tourism farm in Fujian Province. What’s more, the study increased the creative agricult ure elements, which are the butterfly and the local red tourism resources, developing all kinds off estival activities, creative products, etc., so the farm became unique leisure farm in Longyan regio n. Besides revising and summarizing the problems of the farm’s plan, the study redefined the farm and confirmed the development direction of the farm, meanwhile, we canceled and corrected some unreasonable construction projects. Additionally, we are planning to introduce butterfly elements t o create special farm features, which can improve the core competitiveness. At the same time, we will enhance the profitability by building new profit model, and promote standardized managemen t through system building. We hope to further guide the management and development of the farm in the future by using all measurements above.
