With the development of the science and technology and economy rapidly, the demand of the power supply grew rapidly, power grid is constructing constantly. In order to satis fy the demand of the development of the society, the power system enlarge its installed capacity continually,and the issues about the enlargement of the earthing short-circuit current and the recession of the anti-jamming ability of power monitoring equipment raise concern extensively. Hence, the electric power system security become the substantial part of the power construction. The Substation grounding system is a very important part of the power system security in the aspect of the equipment protection and the physical protection. In order to ensure the safety of substations grounding system we must do well in the design, reduce and eliminate the hidden trouble of the grounding system from the source.The grounding technique has become concerning the design and application of the Substation grounding system from concerning ground resistance only. After analysising soil structure deeply, the designer design Substation grounding system on local conditions, in the meantime the design effect should be satisfy the security of the the substation running equipment and the hysical Security. The grounding technique has applied in all fields, but the effect of which almost the same. With the development of the grounding technique, the exact calculation of the Substation grounding system become more and more important.Based on the research achievement past, and by means of analyzing the relationship between the earth resistivityand the measuring distance to obtain the soil texture with the application of RESAP module in CDEGS software system; By means of the application of FCDIST module to calculate the distribution of the failure current; By means of the application of Malz module to analyze the security feature of the Substation grounding system, especially to analyze the voltage-sharing issue. By means of the application of CDEGS software system to analyze the affection of the grounding system with the right-angle side, the shift of ground fault current, the earth resistivity, the ground connector,the high resistance on the surface, etc. Applying the theory to the practice of a 500kV Substation grounding system. By means of the actual measurement of the 500kV Substation to calculate the ground impedance, GPR, Touch and step voltages, etc. to confirm the last design scheme, and verify the validity of the design scheme.
