With the rapid growth of national economy and the speeding up of urbanization, and the increasing of urban population and vehicles, the urban traffic congestion has become increasingly serious, which has greatly affected people’s normal life. At present, the traditional traffic signal control system has been difficult to meet the needs of different characteristics of the road, so it is meaningful to design a new generation of intelligent traffic signal control system with networked control and can be coordinated the area traffic signal.This Paper based on the Windows development platform, using MySQL database to store data, designed a set of traffic signal remote networked control system. And the system has good man-machine interface and efficient and stable data storage function, this not only can real-time monitor and control of intersection traffic signal, but also can be connected to the whole control of area traffic signal spreading area coordination control. This system realizes the intelligent traffic signal control system, in order to alleviate the urban road traffic congestion, and improve the traffic environment of urban road traffic. In this paper, the main research work includes the following four aspects:1. Based on the current traffic conditions, this paper puts forward the traffic signal remote networked control system. By analyzing the demand for traffic signal control system, we design the architecture of the traffic signal remote control networked system.2. Considering the traffic signal control system to the requirements for the various aspects of real-time, safety and stability, this paper designs the overall architecture of traffic signal control system with networked control in modular way, including control server, database, client, configuration design module and communication module, this design has realized the system configuration, data display and interaction, and other functions.3. Through the system test, we verify the feasibility of traffic signal remote networked control system. We use the Vissim traffic simulation software to compare analysis of the effect of the system with the existing single point control effect and the main green wave control effect, and evaluate the effect of several control methods of optimization.4. Finally, we carry on the summary to this paper, and prospect the future research direction.
