| As the basis of the development of the modern cities, urban road traffic management and control system has been an important issue for city managers. This thesis studies regional traffic control policy, including regional traffic signal control method and traffic states analysis technology. Regional traffic signal control method is a combination of control technology and system integration technology, focusing on the coordinated control of all traffic lights in the entire urban region. On the other hand, traffic states analysis is a direct indication of urban road traffic conditions and a kind of performance evaluation of traffic control.Firstly, the method of coordinated regional traffic signal control based on the priority of coordinated main road control is studied in this thesis. Taking the actual traffic situation of our country into consideration, a novel model structure of a regional road network which is based on the idea of hierarchical control of urban areas is proposed in this thesis. Additionally, a regional traffic signal control strategy which is suitable for urban road traffic facilities of Chinese cities is presented. The proposed strategy is able to reduce the complexity of the regional traffic signal optimization via transforming a problem of area traffic control to that of line traffic control and get better performance for regional traffic control. The technology of traffic states analysis based on short-term traffic forecast is also addressed in this thesis. To meet the requirement of real-time traffic information for traffic control, a road section traffic states analysis method based on short-term traffic flow forecast is presented in this thesis. The presented traffic state analysis model in this thesis is simple in style but effective on improving the efficiency.of traffic states analysis. What is more, it is able to indicate the possible trend of traffic evolution and get a better result of traffic states analysis. Finally, the conclusion remarks are presented and the future work on urban regional traffic control is discussed in the end of the thesis. |
