Research On The Construction Of Urban Waterfront Landscape In Jinan City

Jinan is a national historical and cultural city among the first group of China top tourist cities, known as the "City of Springs" because of the abundant water resources and large number of natural artesian springs. With the Jinan’s rapid development and increasing requirement for city environmental quality, how to construct the water ecological civilization city and living environment with unique water-culture charm is the important demands for the waterfront landscape construction and also an important part of urban development and construction.Based on the relevant literature, the thesis firstly makes a preliminary understanding of urban waterfront concept, emphatically summarizes the sustainable development theory, ecological waterfront theory, multi-objective balance theory, analyzes and discusses their values and roles in waterfront landscape project. Secondly, through analysis and study on the development of domestic and overseas waterfront landscape construction, the advantages and shortcomings in the relevant practical cases are summarized with presentation of the challenges in the construction of waterfront landscape and the developmental trend.Then from the perspective of Jinan’s water resource the current status of Jinan’s waterfront landscape construction are researched in three aspects of springs, lakes and rives. Moreover, the discussion of the typical advantages of these waterfront landscapes and what makes them succeeds, analysis of the existing problems and summary of the formation, morphological characteristics and construction strategies of Jinan’s waterfront landscape would make a reference for the design practices in the next waterfront landscape project of Yufu River of Jinan.Taking waterfront landscape project of Yufu River of Jinan as an example, Yufu river’s waterfront is planned scientifically and rationally for the environmental governance and protection of the aquatic ecological safety by applying the research results of Jinan’s urban waterfront landscape construction in response to Jinan’s construction of "national water ecological civilization demonstration city". In addition, the constructed urban waterfront landscape meets the development of the western city of Jinan and provides a ecological, hydrophilic and sustainable waterfront leisure ground, which realizes its ecological value, social value and economic value.
